THE TWIN INSTITUTION

PART THREE: THE SABBATH
The Sabbath institution and the marriage institution are twin institutions
instituted at creation. The Sabbath, the seal in God’s moral law (Ten
Commandment), is the only one that clearly identifies the God we worship. It
is the mark of true worship and hence an identifying sign of God’s true
worshippers.

However, like the marriage institution the Sabbath is also under attack. Satan
seeks to destroy anything that points man to the cross. The Sabbath is a
memorial of creation as well as a symbol of redemption (Deuteronomy 5:15). It
is also a symbol of rest in Christ (Hebrews 4:1-11). Is it any wonder that Satan
wants to do away with the Sabbath when it possesses such important truths?
We discovered that in the place of marriage (man and woman) Satan has
succeeded in introducing Homosexuality, polygamy, unlawful divorces and
early marriages. And in the place of Sabbath worship which falls on Saturday
Satan is almost succeeding in totally making us accept Sunday as a Sabbath.
But it is a counterfeit Sabbath!

Sunday worship has its origin from pagan worshippers. It has no sanction
whatsoever from the God of heaven. In fact, the Bible calls it the MARK OF
THE BEAST (Revelation 13, Revelation 14:9-12). Though it is not yet the
mark of the beast until the decree is passed to make it compulsory we can
clearly see that it will soon be.

The times we live in are terrible. We cannot fully trust man to explain to us
what the scriptures say concerning matters that have a direct bearing upon our
eternal destiny. We must “Search the scriptures;...”- John 5:39 and “...taste and
see that the LORD [is] good:...” for ourselves. For every single thing we
observe and do we must ask, “What do the scriptures say?”
1 peter 3:15 “... [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that
asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” know
what you believe in, why you believe it and were it is written.
